This is a procedure whereby the pulp, comprised of nerves and blood vessels, is removed from the tooth. Usually, trauma or decay will cause the pulp to die and necessitate this type of treatment. Once the pulp is removed, the canals are shaped, sterilized and sealed to prevent further infection.
